Released on March 31st, my number one album of 2023 is the record by boygenius.

the record by boygenius Never have I heard an album so easily able to shake me to my core, and yet so deeply cathartic and powerfully uplifting. A triumph above all else.

Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lucy Dacus write and compose honest music that will not only tear at your heart strings and make you feel, but will have you pumping your fist and dancing like noone is watching.

Songs like “Satanist,” “Revolution 0” and “Anti-Curse” back the fact that these three women aren’t dubbed a supergroup for nothing.

They also released a four-track companion EP titled the rest on October 13th.
